NOTTINGHAM fought hard against big spenders London Welsh but narrowly lost the season opener by 21 points to 27.

The result came despite seven excellent penalties from Fly-half James Arlidge and a solid defensive performance.

The Dragons' summer signing Josh Drauniniu scored two penalties as the visitors looked to put their new players to the test against a well prepared Nottingham side. 

The next home tie will see Nottingham take on Plymouth in two weeks. We hope to see you all there.
