ARCHIE'S A WINNER!!

Archie2

Billboards around Nottingham are currently promoting the task facing Capital One employees as they prepare to race in this year's Flora London Marathon.

On Sunday 13th April, 30 members of staff will be pushing their bodies to the limit in the marathon to raise awareness and money for Scope – a charity that supports children and adults with cerebral palsy and whose mission is to achieve equality for disabled people in society.

Capital One has been working in partnership with Scope for over two years and together they have achieved a great deal through financial and volunteering support.

To help raise awareness of the amazing work Scope do in Nottingham at their Mapperley based Rutland House School, Capital One planned something very special for the recent Nottingham Forest v Cheltenham Town games half time entertainment. Capital One teamed up with other local sports clubs and Trent FM to organise their very own three legged Mascot race!

The eventual winner was our very own Archie the Stag, who teamed up with marathon runner Mike Wisler.

In close contention was Nuts the Squirrel from Notts County Cricket Club who was tied up to Nicola Parton and Nottingham Forest official mascot, Robin Hood who ran with another marathon runner Paul Gorman.

Trent FM Arena Nottingham‘s Nice Bear with Claire Wood and the Trent FM goose with Andy Simons also took part in a great race to raise awareness of the charity.

Each marathon runner has been fundraising for Scope. With the help of their colleagues the runners began to organise a variety of money making schemes, including moustache growing, quiz nights, concerts and raffles.
