Over 30 local rugby coaches attended today’s Nottingham Rugby Coaching CPD Session at The Bay.
The special, behind closed doors, session, hosted by Green and Whites Head Coach Ian Costello gave the opportunity for coaches, who were looking to further develop their skill-sets, to get an insider’s view of Nottingham’s on-field preparations for Saturday’s pre-season trip to Newcastle Falcons, followed by an in-depth, post-training presentation and discussion.
This was the third Coaching CPD event hosted by the club, but the first to include a full, first-team training session, and a post-session Q&A, with all three coaches and ten Nottingham players.
Speaking about why these free sessions are proving to be so successful, Nottingham Rugby General Manager Steve Smith said:
“Ian’s passion for the game and his love of coaching really shines through at these events and we’ve had some very positive feedback from the attendees, who all went away having soaked up some of Ian infectious enthusiasm for coaching.
“Our aim is to engage with, and inspire, local coaches at every level, and as the only professional club within the NLD (Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Derbyshire) area, we feel we can play a big part in helping local coaches progress, and in turn, build strong relationships within the rugby community.”
