Nottingham 27 vs Ealing Trailfinders 28 - Match Preview

Nottingham Rugby welcome Ealing Trailfinders to Meadow Lane on Sunday (5th January) in the Greene King IPA Championship as they look to bounce back from defeat at Leeds Carnegie in their last outing.

Wilson Vs Stirling

The Green and Whites endured a difficult first half against Leeds which saw them behind 20-0 at half time.  However, they put in a much improved second half display which saw the final score finish 30-19.

Nottingham Head Coach Martin Haag said, "We didn't do what we wanted to do in the first half against a very good Leeds side.  We didn't play for territory as well as we would have liked and we struggled to secure enough ball from our set pieces to give us a platform to attack from.

"The second half was much better and the lads really gave it a go.  To score three tries and look capable of more, was good to see after the first half and showed the fighting spirit we have in the camp.

"We now look ahead to facing Ealing Trailfinders at Meadow Lane.  Despite where they are in the league, you can see their results and performances improving all the time as they get used to life at this level.  We know that we'll have to be at our best to get the victory on Sunday."

The match is Nottingham's BIG DAY OUT where they open their doors to new fans from across the city, with lower priced tickets on offer and a host of activities around the ground to be enjoyed.

This game has also been dedicated as David Jackson's farewell, where fans will have chance to show their appreciation for one of the club's greatest ever servants.

On the pitch, Nottingham make two changes to the pack which faced Leeds.  Alun Walker starts at hooker ahead of Jon Vickers and Will Skuse comes into the back row in place of Joe Burton.  Tom Calladine moves to number 8.

An injury to Ed Styles sees Olly Woodburn come in on the wing in an otherwise unchanged back line.
