NOTTINGHAM'S Phil Eggleshaw will make his long-awaited comeback from injury in tonight's Development Team clash with the Blues Academy (Tuesday, January 29 7.45pm ko).

FIRST STEP: Eggleshaw has trained strongly in recent weeks and gets his first game with the development team.

The back-row forward has spent the first 14 rounds of the RFU Championship season on the sideline after having shoulder surgery.

He returned to full-contact training in the first week of 2013 and will use the trip to Bedford to gain much needed match time.

Nottingham will play an under-21 XV, but have agreed with the Blues to include a number of overage players.  The Blues outfit, made up predominately by 18 and 19-year-olds, will be strengthened by four or five of last year's Academy squad.

Green and Whites backs coach Ben Johnston, who has taken charge of two British and Irish Cup group games to date this season, will oversee the development game.

Fly half Rory Lynn spearheads proceedings with fellow Nottingham senior players Matt Shields, Scott Wright, Joe Quinn, Ryan Hough, James Stokes, Jack Bradford and Alex Boggis called into the side.

Burton have released three players Ali Wheedon (second row), Lewis Brooks (centre) and Dave Archer (wing) for the clash.

Mansfield youngsters Jordan Cleaver (full back) and Elliott Gwynne (centre) lead a strong Nottingham Academy contingent while Scunthorpe's Jake Barron, who spent a two-match loan spell at Meadow Lane earlier this season, is recalled.
