PROP Michael Holford says he has returned
to Nottingham a refreshed player after his short-term loan at
Leicester.
Holford (pictured) suited up for the
Tigers in their Premiership match against London Wasps at the
weekend, called upon as cover for a front-row that was stretched to
the limit.
The 30-year-old, nicknamed 'Iron Mike' by the Welford Road
faithful, was right at home wearing the Tiger stripes having played
more than 50 games for the club throughout his career.
The week-long spell was more than just a chance to go back to
the future in the top flight with Leicester, it turned out to be an
opportunity to recharge himself for the Green and Whites'
campaign.
"To get away for a week and then come back has got me mentally
rejuvenated," Holford said.
"I love playing for Notts and it has been a great season so far.
The time at Leicester was intense, the training is always tough
there, and it was a privilege to be asked to go back.
"For me, I'm striving to consistently be at my best for
Nottingham and with the boys around me this season I think we have
all managed it."
Holford faces a battle to win back his place in the Green and
Whites' starting XV against the Cornish Pirates on Sunday after
Ryan Bower shone alongside Matt Parr and Joe Duffey
in Nottingham's emphatic 52-7 win over Doncaster.
