NOTTINGHAM prop Michael Holford has joined Premiership side Leicester on a short-term loan.

The 30-year-old former Tiger (pictured), who most recently enjoyed a stint at Welford Road last season, has been selected for Leicester's league meeting with London Wasps on Sunday.

Nottingham's pack has worked strongly in Holford's absence this week with Matt Shields and dual registered Tiger Ryan Bower pushing their claims for a place in the Green and Whites starting XV.

Holford has been turned to as cover for a front-row that has been stretched to the limit with five props potentially unavailable through representative commitments, suspension and injury.

Dan Cole (England), Martin Castrogiovanni (Italy) and Marcos Ayerza (Argentina) are all on international duty.
