After a good performance against a very strong Munster
team last week, the Nottingham Rugby team have had a change of
scenery for some of their training this week, in the build up to
Saturday's British and Irish cup clash with Greene King IPA
Championship rivals Plymouth Albion.
The Green and White men went back to school this week when
Nottingham High School invited the team down to train at their
facilities. The change of scenery for training seemed to be
something that the players enjoyed and benefited from.
Joe Munro, Nottingham's big inside centre said, "I really like
it here, there is a lovely feel to the place and it's a great
environment to train in."
Andrew Savage, the fast paced Green and White full back added,
"It's great when we get the chance to train at a different venue,
it really freshens things up. All the lads are really grateful to
everyone at Nottingham High School."
Following the performance last Friday night in Ireland, the team
are hoping to build on the performance. Although they can't qualify
for the British and Irish cup quarter final following the defeat to
Munster, the game at Meadow Lane on Saturday is another chance to
build on performances ready for when the Green and Whites face
Bedford in their next Championship fixture on Saturday
Savage continued, "This week needs to be a springboard to build
momentum, we need to keep the same intensity and work rate that was
so good in the Munster game and get the small skill details
Munro added, "Our defence against Munster was some of the best
I've seen, lots of aspects of our game were good and we just need
to start making the right decisions in the right areas more often.
This week is all about the performance, which we can take into the
Nottingham Rugby face Plymouth Albion on Saturday
18th January (Kick off 1pm) at Meadow Lane stadium.
