Nottingham Rugby Fixture List for 2013/14 Confirmed

Nottingham Rugby is delighted to announce their fixture list for the upcoming Greene King IPA Championship season.

The Meadow Lane club, who finished second in the league last season, will start their season with a match on neutral ground as they face Leeds Carnegie at Doncaster's Castle Park as part of the Greene King IPA Big Rugby Weekend to launch the season on Saturday 14 September.

The Green and Whites then welcome London Welsh to Nottingham on Sunday 22 September for what is sure to be a good early season test against a team that were playing in the Aviva Premiership last term.

October sees the return of the British and Irish Cup and Nottingham fans will be excited about the prospect of home and away matches against Munster following the fantastic atmosphere that was generated the last time the sides met.  The Irish giants visit Meadow Lane on Friday 18 October with the return trip in January.  Stirling County and Plymouth Albion complete what is a very open pool.

Nottingham will face five matches in November as they host Bedford, Plymouth and the Cornish Pirates and take in visits to Moseley and Rotherham.

The first match of 2014 will see Nottingham take on newly promoted Ealing Trailfinders RFC on 4 January and the regular season will finish with a trip to the Kassam Stadium in Oxford to take on London Welsh again.

Nottingham's Chief Executive Simon Beatham said, "It's great to be able to confirm our fixture list and let the fans know about the exciting rugby that is coming their way this season.

"The Green King IPA Big Rugby Weekend is a new development, with all teams playing at neutral venues in back-to-back matches and is certainly a different way to begin the new season, but one that I'm sure will excite the fans and create a lot of noise around the competition.

"We then have the visit of London Welsh, who will be looking to prove a point following their travails last year, followed quickly by Munster in the B&I Cup.

"As per last year we'll be looking to make the most of these fixtures and offer an all round experience for our supporters.  This will include theme nights, an enhanced match day experience and the chance to watch some great rugby."

Tickets for all matches this season are now available to purchase by calling 0115 9070070.  Season tickets are also available.
