Nottingham Rugby is delighted to announce the signing of
Paul Grant from Montpellier ahead of the 2014/15
Grant, 26, is a former New Zealand Sevens international and
formerly played for and captained Otago in his homeland.
Standing at six foot four inches and weighing 108kg, Grant will
increase the physicality in the Green and Whites back row while
adding strong ball carrying skills in the loose.
Nottingham Head Coach Martin Haag said, "I'm delighted that Paul
has agreed to join us next season. He is an excellent number
8 who will add a lot to the present squad. He is an excellent
leader as he demonstrated as captain of Otago.
"He's a very strong ball carrier and has previous experience of
linking up with Sean Romans as they were both at Otago
together. He's had a strong season with Montpellier and I'm
delighted to be able to bring in a player of his quality and that
he's decided to be part of the Nottingham Rugby journey."
Grant is the third new signing announced head of next season
following the news that Dan Mugford and Viliame Iongi have agreed
to join Nottingham.
These signings, alongside a number of new deals for current
squad members, including Tom Calladine and Rupert Cooper, have been
well received by fans of the club as they look forward to an
improved showing in the league next season.
