Nottingham Rugby can confirm that promising young talent
Mitchell Todd was killed in a road traffic accident on Wednesday 15
August.
Second row Mitchell, aged 21, was a product of the Nottingham
Academy and impressed for the senior side during appearances in the
British and Irish Cup last season.
He represented Scotland under 20's in last seasons' Six Nations
and also featured in the Junior World Cup. He impressed during loan
spells at both Leicester Lions and Birmingham Solihull and had just
completed his degree in Sports Therapy at Coventry University. He
signed a new contract with Nottingham in May of this year and was
expected to make a big impact during the 2012-2013 season.
He was an exceptional talent and a highly valued member of the
squad, and he will be missed by all of those that knew him. Our
thoughts are with Mitchell's family and friends at this difficult
time.
As a result of this news, Nottingham's scheduled match vs
Loughborough Students, on Saturday 18 August, has now been
cancelled.
