SCHOOLS COACHING PROGRAMME

The Nottingham Community Team works closely with local primary and
secondary schools where rugby is not traditionally played.
Nottingham First XV squad players, who make up the Community
team, visit both in curriculum time and at after school clubs to
introduce pupils to rugby, getting them playing in organised
competitive fixtures and festivals.
Working in Partnership with the Partnership Development Managers
the Community deliver the Nottingham Tag Rugby programme which is a
4-6 stage programme focusing on development and working towards a
competition for the players. To increase the possibility of
longevity a teacher works alongside the coach to enhance their
coaching skills and will complete a Tag Rugby Course delivered by
trained members of the Community Coaching Team.
The Nottingham team is delighted to offer a number of different
opportunities to rugby playing schools in the local areas through
the Schools Partnership Programme:
- Professional coaching for all ages and abilities.
- Structured coaching sessions of contact or tag rugby.
- Nutritional and fitness advice.
- Professional rugby coaching staff with CRB qualifications.
- Session can also be tailored around your curricular time or
take the form of an after school club.
- Get a FREE Nottingham Rugby match ticket for all
attendees
There are options available to suit the needs, and budget of any
rugby playing school.

SCHOOL OF THE WEEK INITIATIVE
Nottingham Rugby's 'School of the Week' initiative aims to get
more schools involved with Nottingham Rugby
Any school that signs up to the scheme will enter a draw
before every home game to our school of the week and win FREE
tickets. There will be a primary and secondary school of the week
and the winners will receive free tickets for all pupils, teachers
and even parents for the upcoming match.
Community Manager Steve Smith said: "This is a great initiative
and a really good way for us to promote rugby in the local
area.
"We are very proud of our community involvement and this
promotion will further help our profile and create awareness in
both primary and secondary schools. With the Community Programme we
have already gone into a lot of schools in Nottinghamshire but
there are plenty that may not know about what we do"
"I think something like this is a good way to get kids
interested in sport and see what we're about at the same time."
To kick things off Nottingham Rugby is giving out free tickets
to schools in the City, Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe areas. The
offer is not limited to these areas and the club would be delighted
to hear from schools across Newark and Sherwood, Mansfield,
Bassetlaw and Ashfield.
