Welcome Message from John Ward, Head of Junior Rugby, former NRFC player (1982-87; 1990-93) and coach to this year’s U15s
The exciting new season approaches and teams have already started their preparations!
If you are a new player and interested in joining Nottingham Rugby Club Junior Section (ages 12 to 16) - then please see the specific web pages for details on your age group where there is more information - such as fixtures, coaches names etc.
New players are more than welcome and we operate a totally inclusive policy where all abilities are recognised, nurtured and given the opportunity to play and develop. Please feel free to come down in September and join in with your age group (first day is Sunday 2nd of September, 11am start for Juniors – Minis start at 9.30).
We also welcome back all players, coaches, parents, supporters and volunteers for what promises to be an exciting season's rugby. This year we have entered the Lexus Rugby Festival in September, as well as the Notts, Lincs and Derbyshire RFU Competitions. Further details can be found on the age group fixture lists.
We aim to run, as in previous years, our monthly Junior Academy nights, where expert coaching for the players from the First XV community coaches will be available. These evenings also provide the opportunity for "coach development" to continue, an initiative supported by Lexus (Nottingham) Ltd, where individualised coaching support takes place.
As the game changes, so we aim to keep our coaches up to date and informed as much as possible. If you feel like helping out with any aspect of Junior Rugby please email me - see contact details below. We are more than happy to welcome new coaches, managers and volunteers!
Please remember that Nottingham Rugby Club is your club, and we encourage parents to become full voting members (details on main web pages) - the more people that join, volunteer and help the better the rugby club will be. The clubhouse bar at Lady Bay is available for private hire at reasonable rates (please contact Ben Thompson for more information).
Our First XV players are proud to be associated with such a vibrant Junior section, and enjoy watching our youngsters play and develop. We should return the favor and cheer on the Green and Whites whenever they play at Meadow Lane.
Finally, can I draw your attention to the Codes of Conduct and our Child Protection Policies attached to these pages, which are very important for the safe running of all sections of Nottingham Rugby Club. If we remember these important policies, respect the game of rugby, and overall enjoy ourselves, it becomes easy to see how rugby becomes a way of life!
Enjoy the fun and hard work of the new season, best wishes.

Tesco Sports for Schools and Clubs is here again and we have placed a collection box on the bar in the clubhouse at The Bay. We will also have a collection box at Meadow Lane on match days.
If you have any spare vouchers, will you please drop them into the collection boxes, as this scheme could provide valuable equipment for our Mini's & Juniors.
Thank you for your invaluable support.
Nottingham RFC recommends the use of gumshields for all players Under 8 and above involved in either contact training or matches.
