Nottingham Rugby Football Club is rightfully proud of its disciplinary record and we were absolutely dismayed when Joe Duffy received a red card in the match against Northampton Saints.
The club immediately carried out a thorough investigation with the benefit of video supplied by the Saints and interviews with those involved.
It is fortunate that we have the advantage of such technology and that the RFU will hold a disciplinary hearing so that any miscarriages can be set straight.
Having viewed the incident from several angles the club does not believe that Joe Duffy committed an act of foul play and we believe that he will be exonerated when we present our evidence to the RFU disciplinary panel on 21st April.
In the meantime Joe will remain available for selection.
