Dear fellow Nottingham Rugby Supporters,

I wanted to thank you all for the support that you have given me over the last few weeks and months in what formulated to a meeting last week of England Rugby Clubs and members coming together at Twickenham voting for the removal of our games CEO. On reflection, I and probably the other Whole Game Union Co-Chairs did not envisage the momentum that was fuelled by the media and general rugby supporters in a rallying cry for change which clearly showed the scale of dissent against the current rugby administration.

Even though the vote was lost, the RFU clearly know that change must happen, and they have got the eyes of the world of rugby watching to ensure this happens. The WGU will be meeting next week to formulate a plan for check and balance on progress and we will work with key stakeholders to ensure change happens. This will include Championship matters on promotion and relegation and fair funding including support with our clubs DCMS loans and fair Tier 2 funding. If they don’t comply, they will be judged once again on overall failure.

I know this journey  won’t be easy and your support is invaluable in seeing this through.

Thank you and please be assured I won’t stop until we get a fair deal.

Thanks

Al
