David Williams has been named as club captain ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Williams, who has 154 appearances for the Archers, has been a key figure in the Nottingham side for several years, and has a major impact both on and off the field.

His appointment comes following Nathan Tweedy’s departure at the end of the 24/25 campaign, having taken over from Josh Poullet in 2023.

Nottingham’s head coach, Craig Hammond, quoted “David is an outstanding presence in our squad, and he fully deserves to lead this side into the new season.”
“He is a great character off the pitch and he leads by example on the pitch, which we have all seen over the years.”

Williams captained the Archers several times on an interim basis last season during Nathan Tweedy’s absence.

David added “it was an honour when Hammo asked me a couple weeks ago to lead us on and off the pitch, I’m really looking forward to it.”

Craig Hammond also named Jack Dickinson and Jack Stapley as vice-captains.
