Nottingham Rugby was founded in 1877 and we are fiercely proud of our Nottingham roots. We have previously played at Ireland Avenue in Beeston and at Meadow Lane Stadium are now based at Nottinghamshire Sports Club on Holme Road in Lady Bay where we train and play our home games.

Nottingham Rugby currently play in the Championship, the 2nd tier of English Rugby. We have strong links with both Universities based in the City and have an emphasis on developing young talent. Our link with Leicester Tigers, has seen a number of players progress through our pathway to play international rugby.

About the Job:

Nottingham Rugby is recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join the Medical Team. This role will involve working closely with the Head of Medical, Team Doctor, S&C department and the coaching team.

Key responsibilities:

  1. To offer timely assessments to acute injuries on and off the field and ensure appropriate follow up care is arranged
  2. To work with and communicate effectively with the Medical Team, S&C department and Coaching Team on all Nottingham RFC playrs .
  3. Provide pre match support, first aid and immediate care during all Nottingham Rugby fixtures where required
  4. Maintain detailed medical notes via intelligence platform in keeping with the CSP professional standards
  5. Remain a member of the Health and Care Professions Council and the CSP at all times
  6. Support the development of other Therapy Staff including interns and students
  7. To work alongside the 1st team and Academy

Personal characteristics and experience

  • Previous experience of working in a sports team environment
  • Confident, resilient and self motivated
  • Ability to drive a positive, enthusiastic and dynamic culture
  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Work using initiative and have great communication skills, both written and verbal

Essential qualifications

  • Qualified in Physiotherapy (BSc/MSc)
  • HCPC registration
  • Member of the Charted Society of Physiotherapy
  • PHICIS Level 3
  • Previous experience of working in a high performance sporting environment
  • Full clean driving licence

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a rugby environment
