It was a proud day for David Ross, and our Nottingham Trent University Pathway on Saturday as former students and members of the pathway lead out as Captain (Jay Ecclesfield) and Vice-Captain (Josh Goodwin), making it the first time the club has had captaincy from solely NTU graduates.
David Ross reflected saying “To have NTU grads as both captain and vice-captain in The Exilor Champ for Nottingham is an outstanding achievement for NTU Rugby and both Jay and Josh. Both were recruited to NTU as players of potential and were scholars during their time at uni before moving into the Nottingham squad and have both stepped up to be integral leaders within that group and to both share the leadership duties against the best team in the league, and do a brilliant job, was brilliant to see.
Aspiring players come to NTU because of this pathway to professional rugby and credit to Jay and Josh for capturing the opportunity.”
