Head Coach Neil Fowkes is looking for his team to find a way to win against London Scottish at The Bay on Friday night.

Nottingham take on Scottish in their first home Greene King IPA Championship fixture of the 2019/20 season this Friday (7:45pm), and Fowkes is hoping to build on Saturday’s win over Ampthill.

He said: “I think against Ampthill we found a way to win in terms of using our maul and we went to the maul a fair bit. We’ve spoken this week about having more balance in our game between the maul and moving the ball but the lads found that way and it was working for them – that reflected in the penalty count.”

Fowkes added: “We need more than just the maul this week, but the maul will be important to us like it always is in the Championship. We’ve got to go out with our game plan and strategy and everything else that goes in to London Scottish but it’s finding that way to win when you’re out there at 7:45.”

Over 800 supporters came down to The Bay for Nottingham’s cup clash with Cornish Pirates at the start of October, and Fowkes has outlined how important the fans are to the team.

He said: “Having a packed Lady Bay on a Friday night is something the lads love. They love playing here and love going out there and showing the supporters what we can do. Having a great crowd and lots of noise is something that’s important to them. We’re always grateful to see good numbers at The Bay and long may it continue.”
