Myself and our board of Directors would like to place on record our sincere thanks to each and every one of you for your donations to our emergency appeal.

This is the first time in our history that we have had to launch an appeal of this nature to the wider rugby community and it was a big decision for us to take. Our insurance only covers minimal damage, so we have been forced into sourcing additional funds to ensure that the club is fully operational once more.

This funding not only supports Nottingham Rugby Club, but also our amateur side Nottingham Corsairs RFC, the cricket club and other sporting organisations who have been affected by the damage inflicted at The Bay. We appreciate that other sporting organisations across the county have been affected by the recent freak weather, and we send our best wishes to them at this difficult time.

We set our appeal target at £50,000, but in reality we anticipate needing closer to £100,000. But what a result so far! We have been overwhelmed at the speed with which we have received contributions from all over the country and we really appreciate each and every offer of support.

Our friends at fellow Championship and Premiership clubs, and their supporters, have shown tremendous generosity not only with their monetary donations, but also their kind words of support.

The young, the old, players, ex players and the wider community, have all come together to show their support over recent days so once again, I’d like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who has come forward.

It is our aim to be back up and running as soon as possible, at which point we would welcome the opportunity to thank everyone individually.

Please keep donating and sharing our appeal with friends, colleagues and contacts. Together, we will get there!

Very best wishes,
Alistair Bow
