Work • Train • Play
Nottingham Rugby has a long and proud tradition dating back to 1877, with the club playing from “The Bay” which is in the heart of Rushcliffe close to the vibrant and growing City of Nottingham. Nottingham has an amazing sporting heritage, with The City Ground (Nottingham Forest) and Trent Bridge (Notts County Cricket Club) located close by and an increasingly popular City nightlife on your doorstep.
The City has two large Universities, with Loughborough University close by, providing a wealth of courses for people wanting to study a wide variety of courses whilst also playing rugby at Championship level.
Nottingham Rugby prides itself on being an important part of the local rugby community and works with a wide number of clubs and schools to support the growth of the game. Players who join Nottingham will be able to develop their career whilst also playing high level Rugby Union.
The Nottingham Rugby Work • Train • Play Scheme is designed to:
- Allow Championship and Premiership level players the opportunity to continue to play in the second tier of English rugby whilst also pursuing a career path that will set them up for life beyond rugby.
- Maintain the club’s proud tradition of giving talented young players a pathway into professional rugby whilst also setting them up with a higher education qualification or providing a great opportunity to develop invaluable experience for life after rugby.
