Nottingham Rugby is delighted to welcome scrum half Alex Dolly to Neil Fowkes’ squad for the 2019/20 Greene King IPA Championship season.
Australian-born Alex, 23, joins after a highly successful season at Rotherham Titans in National League 1 and with Murray McConnell entering the second year of his contract, and with Alex Crocker and Harry Graham available as NTU players, the Green and Whites have some strong options at 9 next season.
The league’s top point scorer, Shane O’Leary, has also signed for another season.
The Canada international has enjoyed a very strong debut season in a Green and White shirt, establishing himself as one of the key members in the starting XV.
Speaking to Nottingham Rugby, Alex Dolly said: “Everyone who I had spoken to had said Nottingham Rugby are a fantastic club with a great atmosphere in the dressing room.
“When Neil Fowkes approached me to join, I thought it was a no brainer. I can’t wait to get started and look forward to joining up with the lads in the summer.”
Head Coach Neil Fowkes said: “Our halfbacks next year are looking very strong thanks to the addition of Alex alongside Murray McConnell, Alex Crocker and Harry Graham.
“To have retained Shane is brilliant and I can’t wait to see how his game improves next year. He’s shown he has real quality to his game that can be the difference in tight matches.
“His drop goal against Coventry in the last minute was something special.”
