NTU student, Charlie West, makes his Champ Rugby debut for Nottingham.

West came off the bench for Nottingham in their round 6 defeat at home to Cornish Pirates, where he managed 15 minutes.

The fly-half signed for the Archers just over a week ago, alongside Matt Durbridge and Hobie Riches.

NTU head coach, and Nottingham’s backs coach, Dave Ross, said “it’s a great moment for Charlie, I’m really pleased for him.”
“He’s been working really hard both for NTU and in Nottingham’s training, so he’s deserved his chance and I hope there will be many more to come.

Charlie joins a long list of NTU students and graduates to have played for the Archers, with the University having a strong presence in several of the Nottingham players.

Dave Ross added “The link between NTU and Nottingham is great, there’s a real importance of playing University rugby in the development of young players, and that has again been shown with Charlie as the example this time.”
