Jersey Reds was one of Nottingham’s most competitive rivals from the 2019-20 season. They finished with just one point more than the Green and Whites but, with the adjusted points, they finished in 7th place with 49.08 points.

They started their season with some ups and downs, winning their opening game against Coventry at home with a score of 22-15. Then, they lost their second game 52-38 away against Ealing Trailfinders, and they won at home again their third match against Doncaster Knights with a score of 28-0.

Round five produced the first head-to-head of the season between Nottingham and Jersey. The game was decided by a try in the closing minutes scored by the reds’ hooker Antonio Harris. The final score was 19-10 to The Reds.

The reverse fixture was the first game cancelled due to the Covid-19 cut off.

Jersey Reds has announced a large number of new signings. The latest was the back row Tim Grey, the scrum-half Cameron Nordli-Kelemeti and the fly-half Bader Pretorius. The most notable new signings of the reds are the Australian scrumhalf Michael Dowsett, from Canon Eagles (Japan), and the Australian fullback Kurt Heatherley, from Auckland (New Zealand).

They have played one pre-season friendly against Coventry, which ended in a narrow victory for Coventry (34-33). Their next pre-season match is against Cornish Pirates this Saturday February 27th.

Nottingham will travel to Jersey to face Jersey Reds in the sixth round of the 2020-21 season, the weekend of April 24th.
