Nottingham Trent University student Ellis Mee has today been announced by Welsh Rugby Union side Scarlets as their newest signing ahead of the 2024/25 season, having impressed in his debut season with Nottingham Rugby.

During his one season at Nottingham, Ellis took the spotlight during their annual awards having won the Supporters’ player, Players’ player, and the Neil Hannah Player of the season.

Ellis stated: “My experiences at Nottingham Trent University and Nottingham rugby have been great. Beginning my journey at NTU, they gave me the opportunity to play university rugby and with the help from the coaching staff and other players, it allowed me to improve as a player. The pathway between NTU and Nottingham Rugby is outstanding and it sees alot of student athletes have to opportunity to train and play at a championship standard. Nottingham rugby have supported me throughout the whole year I have been here, from the players being so welcoming to the coaching staff helping me to become a better player. I have enjoyed each and every moment of my time at both NTU and Nottingham and extremely proud to have represented both teams.”

Another example of the outstanding partnership between NTU and Nottingham Rugby, being able to produce and nurture top-level athletes.
