Nottingham are in league action for the first time this weekend when they travel to Ampthill on Saturday, 3:00pm kick off.

The Green ‘N’ Whites used their three cup games as more of a pre-season after having to cancel planned friendlies due to preparations, but now, Neil Fowkes’ men are raring to go in the league.

The Head Coach said: “We’re really looking forward to getting in to league action this weekend. We’re looking forward to going somewhere new, we’ve never played Ampthill in any competition before so it’s a new experience for everyone.

“The lads are really looking forward to getting back out there and showing everyone what they can do.”

This is Ampthill’s first season in the Greene King IPA Championship so are a bit of an unknown quantity but Fowkes has prepared well ahead of the game.

“We’ve watched all of their games (Ampthill) in the cup and they had a good win at Bedford so we know they’re dangerous with ball-in-hand,” said Fowkes. He added: “Our task is to turn up there and make sure they don’t control possession and make sure we play in the right areas of the park.

“We’ve got a lot of respect for Ampthill after their win at Bedford because it’s never an easy place to go and get a victory.”
