Despite losing, last week’s two-point performance against league leaders London Irish has given Nottingham Rugby a confidence boost ahead of this weekend’s clash with London Scottish.

The Green and Whites showed their character to bounce back from a heavy defeat in Jersey to nearly cause an upset against Irish, who won by six points at The Bay last week.

Having won the reverse fixture at home last year, Nottingham will be looking to find their first victory of 2019 but Neil Fowkes is well aware of the threat the London side possess.

Speaking ahead of the game, Neil Fowkes said: “We were happy with the attitude of the boys in the week after the Jersey game and their response against Irish made for a highly competitive game of rugby against the best side in the league. ‘

“This weekend poses another test of the players’ toughness and togetherness as every game in the Championship is so competitive. We are expecting a hard-fought game against a well-coached Scottish side on Saturday.”
