The Archers have secured the services of scrum half Matt Marsh for the upcoming 2021-22 Championship season.

The 23-year-old most-recently represented Ampthill in the Greene King IPA Championship, and has previously played for Cardiff Met Uni, Exeter Chiefs U18, South West U16’s and England Lions U16s.

In addition, we’re delighted to announce that Michael Stronge has committed to Nottingham Rugby for a further season. This area is strengthened further with the season long loan of Sam Edwards from Leicester Tigers.

The Irishman joined The Archers last Summer, and made eight appearances last season, scoring one try.

Head Coach Craig Hammond said: “We’re delighted to have these boys on-board for the upcoming season. Stronge was here last year and made a real impact, and Marsh was impressive playing for Ampthill at the same level.

“We have also strengthened with Sam Edwards, who was one of six to join on-loan from Tigers recently. Our squad is really starting to take shape now and we’re just buzzing to get the season going.”
