Matthew Gould has put pen to paper and has signed his first professional rugby contract with Nottingham Rugby upon completing 4 years at NTU. It is an incredible achievement for a member of the NTU Rugby Union squad, following an electric career for the university.

Matthew Gould collected over 50 appearances for the NTU Rugby Union 1st XV, including top try scorer in the previous two seasons, and the hard work put in through university has paid off, and Matthew has now signed with the Championship Rugby Club.

“The Trent pathway has been instrumental in helping me get to where I am today. The close connection between Nottingham Trent and Nottingham Rugby gave me the opportunity to learn from high-quality coaching through David Ross, and also through experienced players, which really accelerated my development over the past 4 years. Being able to train in both environments helped me grow my game and prepared me for the next step. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities and support I’ve received, and signing for Nottingham Rugby is a proud moment that would not have been possible without this pathway and connection between the two clubs.”

Congratulations Matthew, on what is an incredible achievement!
