We ran out as winners in an incredibly entertaining battle of Championship Rugby against Mosley on this day in 2014.

George Catchpole got us off to solid start when he went over on the 10th minute to put us into the lead. Our number 10, Matthew Jarvis, was able to add his first conversion to put us seven up.

It was the old one-two when Ryan Hough added our second try just moments later. Jarvis converted his second and we’d gone from 0 to 14 in the space of just two minutes.

Despite being pegged back on the 16th minute, the Green and Whites kept up the momentum and Hough got his brace 11 minutes after his first when he went over on the 23rd minute. Henry Purdy got our fourth with a minute to go until the break and Jarvis was able to round off a first half hattrick of conversions.

We dug in for the second half and managed to weather a storm of Mosley pressure to see out the win. Jarvis was on hand to add our only points of the half with a penalty kick on the 66th minute and we came away with a solid home victory.
