The Green and Whites put the Cornish Pirates to the sword on Trentside when we sailed to a comfortable victory on this day in 2016.

Pila Longi was the hero with a hattrick of tries, the first two of which came within six minutes of each other midway through the first half. Tongan international Vili Hakalo made his mark on the game with a try of his own between Longi’s first two of the afternoon.

All the while, Dan Mugford put on a show of his own, adding a hattrick of conversions on top of the three quick tries. He wasn’t finished yet though.

The second half started with a bang. Toby Freeman got us going four minutes in with another Try before Longi completed his hattrick on the 51st minute.

Robert Langley added another five minutes later and all the while Mugford kept cannoning the conversions home. He’d come away from the match with just the five… and a try for good measure when he went over on the 67th. Not to forget his 75th minute penalty of course.

Billy Robinson completed the rout in the last minute with another try before Lawrence Rayner added the extras to ensure the Green and Whites would plunder the points from the Pirates.
