Nottingham Rugby Football Club is saddened to hear of the passing of former player Philip Butcher, who passed away on Thursday 12th March 2020.
Phil made 27 first team appearances between 1968 – 1970, scoring 9 points by means of two three-point tries on his debut against Birmingham on 7th September 1968 and a drop goal against Manchester on 8th March 1969.
He made his final appearance against Birkenhead Park at Ireland Avenue, Beeston, on 25th April 1970, appearing at centre in 16 of the matches and fly-half in the other eleven.
Nottingham RFC would like to extend its condolences to his family and friends.
